We have started thinking about names for this next baby. The first name has to not only be something that we like, but it must have a good strong meaning. We basically have 2 girl names and 2 boy names that we like. However, the middle names are decided and non-negotiable. Middle names are just as important as the first name. We have chosen (okay, so really me, but only because Gus really does not have a strong opinion on the subject) that the middle names will be family names that have personal significance. Since our children will carry the Garcia name from their father, I think they should carry their middle name from my family. Elias' middle name is Glynn. This is the name of my grandpa and my dad's middle name. They have been 2 of the most important men in my life so I always wanted Elias to be named after them.
Now on to baby #2. If it is a boy his middle name will be Thomas. This was the name of my mom's grandpa, who we called Grandaddy. He was definitely the most important man in her life growing up. He was a man who loved God, his family, and his dogs! One of the characteristics I remember most about him is that he was so kind and gentle. I would love to give this middle name to our next son!
If it is a girl her middle name will be Marie. Although this sounds like a "generic" middle name it actually is a family name that goes back a few generations. This is the middle name of my great grandmother, my mother, myself, and my niece.
So here are the names we really love:
-Malachi Thomas Garcia (Love this name, but not sure how it sounds with Thomas. Malachi means "My Messenger".)
-Noah Thomas Garcia (Love this name too, but it may be too "common" compared to the name Elias. It means "peaceful, restful".)
Audrianna Marie Garcia (This is what we would have named Elias if he had been a girl. We would probably call her Audri. Audri means "noble strength" and Anna means "grace, favor".)
Gabriella Marie Garcia (We would NOT call her Gabby, but possibly Ella. It may be too popular considering High School Musical character. It means "God is my strength".)

I love Audriana! I have only known one perso with that name and their nickname being Audri. It's beautiful!
I love Gabriella Marie Garcia and Noah Thomas Garcia. I think those are BEAUTIFUL names. :) I can't wait to meet your new little one! :) I know he or she will be so precious!
Laura, I a blessed by your choice of names!! My Graddaddy, Thomas Halford, was a wonderful Christian man. He was a blessing to his family, his community and his church. Also, my maternal grandfather's name is Griffin Thomas Lynn. Thomas is a wonderful choice for your son.
My grandmother, Martha Marie Bohot Lynn, was a child's dream of a grandmother. She loved me so deeply and dearly. She was an amazing woman, well know in Wilbarger County for her good cooking as well as being the first "Chili Cook-off Champion of Medicine Mound" in 1977. Also, her grandmother and her great-grandmother were also named Maria. I assume that it was shortened to Marie after the family immigrated to Texas from Germany in the 1860s. Thank you so much for your committment to your family and the importance of family names. I am researching our family history and every generation passed down family names. One of the most important thing in the research is tracing the families through the constant use of the family names. I really like the name "Gabriella". I think that Elias and Ella would go together very well! At some point in naming your children, I hope that you use your maiden name also. But that can wait a few years!! Oh, Kelly Floyd is also expecting her second child, due in August.
i like malachi and audriana.
Well I love the name Thomas...My sons name. It would be so great to see you guys sometime!!
